About Us

Bob and I got our first shorthair in 1986, Cookies and Cream II, JH.  She was Bob's personal hunting dog.    We bred her in 1989 to FC/AFC Dutch Von Hainholz.  At that time, we bred and raced Quarter horsesin Southern California.

Once Bob attended his first hunt test and field trial, he was hooked.  We sold all of our horses and bought a foxtrotter and a motorhome.   Bob ran in both AKC hunting test and field trials when his job permitted. At that time, Bob was licensed to judge both AKC hunting tests and field trials. After a few years, we quit doing field trials, as his job did not allow us to train and attend trials on a regular basis. We did continue competing in both hunting tests and conformation. During that time, Arlene and Erin became friends and began co-owning and breeding the dogs. Erin competed the dogs in the show ring and we had some moderate success. CH Jaegerhof's Baron von Wendig MH was Winners Dog/Best of Winners at the 1993 GSPCA NSS in Allentown, PA. CH Jaegerhof's Caribbean Romance JH was Best of Opposite Sex in the 2003 GSPCA National Futurity.

In late 2004, Bob retired from construction and we moved to Chino Valley, AZ.  The first year or so, we were pretty busy building our kennel and making changes to the new property. We were both instramental in starting the No. Arizona German Shorthaired Pointer club. We are now back to competing in AKC field trials on a fairly regular basis. Bob also continues to judge occasionally. In addition, Arlene publishes an electronic newsletter (GSP Online Chronicle) specifically for German Shorthaired Pointers competing in the field
